Motörhead ballad
Ah yes. The metal/punk band ballad. These always suck, right? …not when Lemmy is involved. Ballad might be a bit of an overstatement, but this one is great, and not what you typically associate with Motörhead. Minimal Mac: My Pledge To You →
One day, when I was 8 years old, I found a twenty dollar bill on a city bus. My Grandmother’s house, where I spent more than a few days every week, was at the beginning of a bus route. It was not uncommon, when boarding the bus, I was one only one on. That day, I had just boarded and paid my fare… Dude, excellent. This is much appreciated. Well written too.

“Life isn’t a support system for art; it’s the other way around.”
– Stephen King, On Writing, which audiobook I’m listening to for at least the third time and still finding endlessly useful, compelling, realistic, and, yep, so inspiring. No writer makes me want to work harder than this hard-cursing, page-producing, humane word guy. (via merlin) I discovered...

– A fine comment from one Pastabagel on Collect ‘em all! (via Code for Something w/ a fist-bump for Johanna) (via jackcheng) Love the idea of this. The idea that, even that thing you “need” today may become “good to have” tomorrow and that it is OK to release it to someone that has a need then. The...

And Your Bird Can Sing
merlin: “And Your Bird Can Sing” (Take 2 w/Overdubs) What I love: Without the (albeit insanely amazing) leads from Paul1 and George playing from the top, you get to hear George’s (unused) gorgeous 12-string Rick arpeggios. Jesus, what a boner that gives me. Big Rick boner. LOVE that sound. The chatter and clowning. I’m not a deep Beatles scholar, but I think this (Apr 1966) wasn’t...
